Other Characters: nope
Interests: I love dragon age for one and fantasy settings. Knowing there's a game all about the inquisition is just a huge interest to me. I'm hoping to do some cool things with this character too since while Canon does let him do somethings, I feel like I could really make him shine outside the limited role he's given to the potential he has. With one of his weaknesses I hope to make him grow and expand on it to see the exceptions that you have to make in the world.

History
Canon History
Henry was born near Kirkwall in the Free Marches to the noble household of Swan. For 7 years he lived with his parents. It was a normal and happy existence, up until he began showing signs of magic. His parents were distraught, knowing that their child couldn’t have the life they wanted for him. They debated on it, his father suggesting they just flee, go to Tevinter and try and start a new life. Henry’s mother wanted to keep it a secret, fearing that Henry’s life would only be filled with horror if they sent him to the Gallows.
In the end, they compromised, deciding to bring him to the circle outside of the Free Marches ( fearing that he would be brought to the Gallows in Kirkwall). His parents brought him to Orlais, knowing a friend and templar, Fredrick in the White Spire whom they trusted to watch out for him. As they left him they left him with a book of fairy tales (thedas’ equivalent) and told Henry they wanted what was best for. Henry pleaded for them to stay, not sure what they meant by their words. Despite his pleas they left, heartbroken.
Having lost everything he knew in a single moment it seemed like a wound that would never heal. For the first few years Henry was miserable despite other mages attempting to comfort and reassure him. It wasn’t until he finally looked inside the storybook his parents left him. Inside was the thing he needed the most: hope. Understanding finally that his parents gave him up to the circle for his best chance as a mage Henry slowly began to adjust.
Henry would excel in his magical studies, becoming one of the top apprentices within his circle. But, when the murders began Henry started to become uneasy. Tensions were rising in the tower between templars and mages. Only around fifteen at the time Henry would’ve begun to undergo his training for his Harrowing if not for the Spire’s revolt. Amidst the chaos, the Templar Fredrick had taken from the Spire moments before the revolt began.
Henry and Fredrick would then travel together to the Free Marches in hopes of getting Henry back to his family where he might be safe. It might’ve panned out if not for the Mage-Templar war that began soon after. Now on the run from both crazed mages, templars and then demons from the breach, the two would be parted.
Getting cornered by a pack of Red Templars, Fredrick sacrificed himself in order for Henry to escape their clutches. As Henry ran he never looked back an would never know what happened to the man who had saved him. Upon reaching the Hinterlands, Henry would finally hear of the Inquisition and the current state of the world. Knowing that it might be his only chance for real safety and to help the current problems of the world he ventured forth to join.
PersonalityHenry is a kind hearted boy who has always dreamt of being a hero from the moment he started reading his books. From a young age he always knew the difference between right and wrong, despite his living conditions. He believes in the power of hope and true love and that good will always triumph over evil despite the odds. He strives to do the right thing, to help as many people as he can and when he can.
Henry has shown that his belief is absolute and there is nothing he won’t do to prove that he’s right. He shows boldness to those who deny his belief and will put his life on the line to prove that he is correct.(Puts himself between someone and another to protect another ) It also translates to bravery, since Henry has often risked his life help others.
The boy has also shown that he does believe in the power of redemption and second chances. He doesn’t believe anyone is beyond hope of walking the path of redemption. However, this isn’t blind optimism Henry often says he needs to be shown by the other that they can redeem themselves. He won’t take someone at their word, he needs action.
Family is important to Henry. He cares about every relationship and person he would consider family and only wants the best for them. So when losing someone in his family it tends to weigh very heavily on him. It shows how troubled he can be when he loses a relationship like that without any form of closure.
Lastly, Henry is shown to be wise far beyond his years. He has seen what magic can do and that it can make good people do terrible things. While it's something in the world that cannot be rid of he seeks to try and find a way for it's worst purposes to be gone.
Opinions & Affiliations
The chantry: An organization that follows the faith of the maker. His opinion is they try and do good for all...except maybe that exalted march on the elves.
Templars: It's mixed. Henry has known some pretty bad templars but he's also met some good ones as well having actually known one himself. He thinks they can be a force for good if all of them can learn to work together with mages.
Mages: Being one himself again it's mixed. Henry see's the potential for a lot of good coming from magic, since it can protect the innocent and heal those who are injured. But with the events at play, with blood magic, insane cultists on the rise he recognizes it's dangerous.
Grey Wardens: They're heroes right out of a storybook. They fight against the tides of evil that would engulf the world. They are the shield to all. Henry has nothing but respect and admiration for these people.
His general opinion is willing to give everyone their fair chance until they prove otherwise.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths
Creation magic
Henry is skilled in forming barriers and protective auras for himself and his companions. Further he can increase their speed to make them more deadlier adversaries. Lastly, he is capable of some degree of healing in the creation school. He's still working the kinks out in this one.
Winter school
Henry is only a moderate in this school, only practicing enough to utilize fadestep and setting walls of ice in between himself and his foes.
Storm school
His offensive school of choice. Multiple bolts of magical energy, a cage of electricity, a storm of it, a chain, or a bolt of lightning, electrically imbued weapons you name it. Henry's mastered school.
Adept reader and researcher
There's not much to do in the circle but read. Henry is fairly well read both because he loves to read stories and the practical knowledge it gives him. Any kind of story or fable out there, he's bound to know it off the top of his head. With that comes a thirst to learn more and record his own stories. He might even write his own book.
Hope speecher
He can be pretty convincing when it comes to talking about hope and faith and all that wonderfulness. Not really a power just, damn this kid is convincing.
Weaknesses
Is a mage
Henry is a mage and therefore kind of a squish. As much as he'd love to learn how to use a sword it doesn't mean he's good at protecting himself from them. He has to stay back and cast to fight.
Susceptible
Like all mages he is at risk of coming under possession from a demon or spirit. That just goes without saying. More note worthy he has yet to undergo his harrowing which is probably even more riskier for his age. He has managed thus far but it's still there.
Maybe too optimistic
Henry believes with all his heart of good triumphing over evil, what is right and what is wrong, and the power of hope. Not bad qualities or even weak ones. But, it also leads to naivety. He views the worlds in whites and blacks, there are no greys so it can be tough to even see what's a grey area in the world. Also killing is wrong guys, except maybe in self defence but even then there must be another way, right?
Inventory
-Mage staff
-mage robes
-a few books of various stories
-a notebook and charcoal
-a heart full of hope
Motivation
Henry wants to help try and resolve the mage templar conflict the best he can since he really had no say in what went down. Plus, you know, heroes have to try and save the world and all. Literally, all he wants is to try and make the world a better place and he see's the Inquisition as something able to do that.
